During the weekly briefing of the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, the official was asked how Moscow interprets the new demands of Azerbaijan presented to the Armenian side for the signing of the peace treaty, which refer to the start of direct negotiations with the so-called 'Western Azerbaijan' community. Zakharova advised to ask Yerevan how the Armenian authorities treat those statements.
"One of the elements of the high-level tripartite agreements is the discussion of the humanitarian block, including such issues as the protection of the rights of refugees, the preservation of monuments of historical, cultural and religious heritage, ensuring their safe and free access, the search for missing persons, the exchange of prisoners of war and detained persons," she said.
"We noted that we highlight the resumption of dialogue between Baku and Yerevan on all humanitarian issues, both official and public. We are ready to support if the parties want to take advantage of our opportunities," Zakharova said.
