“By suspending visa-free travel, Georgian citizens are blackmailed. I am almost 100 per cent convinced that no one will share such an approach in the EU and Georgian citizens will not be punished,” Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
On December 16, the EU member states will discuss Georgia. Bochorishvili says she does not expect “decisions that will damage bilateral relationships.”
“Among the EU member states there are countries that have different views and there are EU member states, which are much more critical of the Georgian authorities.
However, there are 27 countries in the EU and decisions are unanimous when it comes to sanctions or other punitive measures,” Maka Bochorishvili stated.
