A Christmas tree was set up on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. Protesters decorated it with flags of the European Union, Georgia, Ukraine, and the United States of America, as well as photos of injured journalists at the rallies.
By the order of the Tbilisi Municipality, the framework of the New Year tree was installed in the place of the protestors' gathering in the afternoon. However, the protesters did not allow the city services to completely collect the New Year's symbol, and on the skeleton decorated with artificial branches appeared photos of activists and journalists beaten by the police.
In addition to the photos, the flags of Georgia, the European Union, Ukraine and the USA appeared on it, and the scarecrow of Zviad Kharazishvili, the head of the special purpose department controlling the dispersal of the protesters, was burned in front of the Christmas tree.
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, promised that the Christmas tree will definitely be made to look appropriate.
