Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan revealed today why Yerevan refused to host a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union's (EEU) Supreme Economic Council.
"I personally considered it inexpedient to hold the event in Armenia. And I can tell you why. Unfortunately, for reasons known to you, and I publicly stated this also from this rostrum- not all members of the EEU Supreme Economic Council are welcome in Armenia," Pashinyan said in Parliament.
Regarding the ratification of the Rome Statute and the actions expected from it, Pashinyan noted that when it was ratified, the Armenian side was in communication with its Russian counterparts and presented the example with the United States.
“We have a bilateral agreement with the United States, which emphasizes certain features in our relations with them within the framework of the Rome Statute. We have proposed the same mechanism to the Russian Federation, but the Russian Federation, for some reason, did not agree to it.
