The Constitutional Court of Georgia has dismissed the lawsuits filed by President Salome Zourabichvili and 30 opposition MPs challenging the constitutionality of the November 26 parliamentary elections.
The Court published the Plenum’s decision, stating that it had declined to consider the lawsuits, 1tv.ge reports.
This ruling is final and will not be subject to appeal. The Court provided a differing opinion from Judge Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze regarding the accessibility of election participation for Georgian citizens residing abroad.
Additionally, the Court acknowledged the view of Judge Teimuraz Tughushi on the issues of vote secrecy and election accessibility for Georgians living overseas.
The detailed decision will be made available on the Court’s official website within the next 15 days and will be disseminated to relevant stakeholders and the Georgian Legislative Messenger.
Judges Merab Turava, Eva Gotsiridze, Giorgi Tevdorashvili, Irine Imerlishvili, Khvicha Kikilashvili, Manana Kobakhidze, and Vasil Roinishvili supported the ruling.
