Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze did not rule out that the authorities may apply to the Constitutional Court to recognize opposition political parties as illegal.
"These days, they, the oppositionists, openly expressed their opposition to the constitutional system of Georgia, which creates a direct basis for applying to the Constitutional Court and recognizing the opposition parties as unconstitutional. Let's wait and see how the processes will develop. Everything is in our hands," Kobakhidze stated at the government meeting, Georgian media reported.
As the head of the Georgian Government clarified, by the opposition he means the United National Movement party of the former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, the Coalition for Change and Strong Georgia and the Gakharia for Georgia party of the former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
