The Syrian Defense Ministry said that major Islamist attacks were being “successfully repelled” in rural areas of Aleppo and Idlib. The groups were said to be using heavy weapons, drones and a large number of foreign fighters in their attacks, the SANA news agency reports.
The Ministry also urged citizens not to believe disinformation spread by “terrorists” and to follow news through official national media. On November 27, Islamist groups announced the launch of a major military operation against the Syrian army and pro-Iranian groups, calling it a “restraint of aggression.”
