On November 28, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan participated in a round-table discussion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. The discussion was attended by officials from Foreign Ministry of Finland, as well as representatives from civil society and expert circles.
In his opening remarks, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the main priorities of Armenia's foreign policy and the efforts being made to strengthen the country’s independence, sovereignty and resilience.
The Minister touched upon the opportunities provided by new, ambitious partnerships and prospects for cooperation with international organizations. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that despite existing challenges, the Government of Armenia continues to implement democratic reforms and actively cooperates with like-minded partners in this direction.
The interlocutors showed particular interest in the dynamics of deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, discussions on developing a new agenda as well as public sentiments regarding the existing prospects.
The discussion also included an exchange of views on regional issues.
The Minister noted: “Armenia stands at a unique crossroads. To fully realize this potential, our government has proposed the “Crossroads of Peace” concept aimed at the effective unblocking of regional communications and ensuring sustainable economic development.”
