On November 29, the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan received the delegation of the Friendship Group Kazakhstan-Armenia.
Hakob Arshakyan congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of signing the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan.
“I am sure that the visit of the representational Friendship Group to Armenia will give impetus to the further development of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation,” the NA Vice President said. He underscored that the activity of the parliamentary Friendship Groups can also have a positive impact on the implementation of the most important bilateral projects in terms of the legislative bodies.
Positively appreciating the dynamic development of the Armenian-Kazakh relations, Hakob Arshakyan expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side to provide a platform for the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in May of this year.
“I am glad to mention that Kazakhstan welcomes the efforts of Armenia aimed at the establishment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus, including the Crossroads of Peace concept, which initiated the RA Government, and its aim is to promote the mutually beneficially transport cooperation of all countries of the region,” Hakob Arshakyan noted. He noted that the high level of political relations opens wide opportunities for constructive cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, including the boosting of interaction through the international parliamentary structures.
The Head of the Kazakhstan-Armenia Friendship Group of the Majlis of Kazakhstan Mukash Iskandirov thanked Hakob Arshakyan for warm words and reception, underlining that this visit is a wonderful opportunity to discuss agenda items of cooperation. “We follow with interest the policy pursued by Armenia, the processes of economic development. Armenia, confidently takes steps for the benefit of the people’s welfare,” Mukash Iskandirov said.
Hakob Arshakyan noted that Armenia is concerned about activating trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing that it amounted to 71.5 million USD during the nine months of 2024.
The sides noted that there is demand for the realization of unused potential.
As the NA Vice President observed, Armenia highlights the development of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. He reaffirmed the readiness of our country to continue the strategic cooperation for boosting the joint efforts.
The Head of the Friendship Group Armenia-Kazakhstan Vagharshak Hakobyan also took part in the meeting.
