Within the framework of the working visit to Finland, on November 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a meeting with Heikki Autto, Chair of the Grand Committee of the Parliament (Eduskunta) of Finland and its members.
Views were exchanged on bilateral relations between Armenia and Finland, the Armenia-EU partnership agenda, as well as issues related to regional developments.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented the steps being taken to deepen the Armenia-EU partnership, in line with the European aspirations of the citizens of Armenia and common democratic values. Among the tools used jointly with the EU, the visible role of the EU Monitoring Mission in ensuring stability on the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border was emphasized.
The interlocutors touched upon the challenges of advancing democracy in the context of current developments, emphasizing the importance of active interparliamentary ties both in addressing the challenges and in expanding the bilateral agenda.
In the context of the security situation in the South Caucasus, Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including efforts in border delimitation and the signing of the peace treaty.
Minister Mirzoyan also addressed additional questions raised by the parliamentarians.
