Traffic has been restored on Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi. A mass protest was held here last night against the Government’s decision to freeze EU accession talks until the end of 2028.
A red alert has been declared at the Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue. It is currently unknown how many people have been arrested and how many were injured during the protest.
Opposition leaders are calling on citizens who opposed the Government’s decision to gather again near the Parliament building this evening.
Georgian Interior Ministry special forces cleared Rustaveli Avenue in the evening, removing protesters from there. Police used tear gas, and some were arrested.
