Opposition leaders and their supporters marched from the Tbilisi State University (TSU) downward to Heroes Square, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
The Coalition for Change and Unity-National Movement set up two tents at the square. The protest will continue till 11 p.m.
“We will convene at 9 p.m. on the First Republic Square, motorcars will join us from the regions and drive across Tbilisi to awaken the city,” said Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the Unity-National Movement coalition.
Giorgi Vashadze announced the action plan for November 24-25 for the rally participants at Heroes Square.
According to Vashadze, from the First Republic Square, the rally will be relocated to Rustaveli Avenue for an overnight protest.
“We want to tell the puppet Georgian Dream that if they still decide to convene, this will be the gathering of self-proclaimed people that will have nothing in common with neither Georgia nor Constitution or parliament,” he said.
Vashadze earlier called on citizens to take a day off from workplaces on Monday, “dedicate one day to the motherland” and join the protest on November 25, the date when the 11th convocation parliament is set to convene to hold the first sitting.
“We always inquire what Europe or the US will do. It is high time to ask what we are ready for, and what we will do for the motherland. The power is in unity and we will win,” he said.
