Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Belarus on a two-day working visit. In Brest, he and his Belarusian counterpart Maxim Ryzhenkov took part in a joint session of the Foreign Ministry boards of the two countries.
Lavrov noted that Moscow and Minsk are developing a diplomatic response to growing Western pressure. According to him, the issue of countering the West’s legal actions is very urgent.
At the end of the session, the foreign ministers of Russia and Belarus signed a package of joint documents of the collegium of the foreign ministries of the two countries, including a declaration on countering sanctions.
Lavrov touched upon the US permission for Ukraine to strike Russian military targets with long-range missiles, noting that Biden is trying to leave the next US administration with the “worst possible legacy.”
Lavrov also met with Belarusian youth. He noted that Western countries are beginning to understand that only a part of Ukraine will remain.
