The Times has reported that Ukraine has only about 50 American ATACMS tactical missiles.
The newspaper states that these missiles are considered so highly valued worldwide that the US has exported them to many countries, including Australia, South Korea, Romania, Greece, Türkiye, Poland and Morocco. As a result, Ukraine was at the bottom of the list.
The newspaper reported that, although the Pentagon had not provided any details, the Kyiv government was believed to have about 50 missiles at its disposal.
Ukraine has enough HIMARS and MLRS missile launchers to launch them, but with limited supplies, the Ukrainian military command will have to carefully choose targets in Russia to attack.
Officially, the US has not yet confirmed granting Ukraine permission to strike Russian territory with American weapons.
However, they have privately confirmed that Ukraine has used ATACMS missiles against targets in Russia for the first time.
