Early this morning, police dispersed people protesting against the parliamentary election results on Chavchavadze Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia, and traffic has been restored.
City services have completely cleared the avenue, as well as the surrounding streets and squares. A small group of protesters and some opposition leaders have moved to Melikishvili Avenue. The atmosphere there is also calm.
Law enforcement officers began dispersing the protesters on Tuesday morning. They were taken out of Chavchavadze Avenue, where the opposition had been holding a demonstration for two days near the Tbilisi State University building. Later, the protesters moved towards Melikishvili Avenue, where law enforcement officers also removed them from that area.
