A meeting of the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Spain, Italy and non-EU member Britain was held in Warsaw, with the participation of Kaja Kallas, who is to replace Josep Borrell as EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The foreign ministers of Spain and Britain joined the discussions online.
After the meeting, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced at a press conference that the countries participating in the meeting were ready to take on the burden of military and financial assistance to Ukraine in the event of a possible reduction in US support for Kyiv.
The meeting of foreign ministers in Warsaw coincided with the 1,000th day of the war in Ukraine. Another important topic of the event was the development of EU-US relations after Donald Trump returned to the White House.
