Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the demand to recognize the final results of the October 26 parliamentary elections as unconstitutional, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
According to the Presidential Administration, the President’s representative Eka Beselia submitted the lawsuit to the Court in Batumi city.
President Zourabichvili stated on November 18 at the briefing that the elections were held with the violation of vote secrecy and universality principles.
She said she had “no trust in the independence of the Constitutional Court,” however, “all judicial mechanisms and spaces should be exhausted locally”.
