Armenia’s statements demonstrate its plans to move away from all forms of cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told journalists.
Asked about Yerevan’s possible participation in future CSTO events, including a summit at the end of November, he said that this question should be addressed to the Armenian side.
“But judging by the statements of the Armenian side, it distances itself from absolutely all formats of CSTO activities at various levels,” he said.
Armenia has announced earlier that it is freezing its participation in the CSTO events and stopping the financing of the structure. According to the assessment of the Armenian side, the alliance has not fulfilled its obligations towards Armenia.
