The Armenia-United States relationship has firm institutional foundation regardless of change in the U.S. administration, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan has said.
“The relations between the two countries have rather firm institutional foundations regardless of the administration,” Kostanyan said. In 2024, Armenia and the U.S. announced intentions to increase the level of their relationship from strategic dialogue to strategic partnership, the Deputy Foreign Minister said.
“Intensive work is carried out in this regard. Allow me to express confidence that this work will successfully continue and reach completion also in case of a new administration,” Kostanyan said.
The agenda is based on common values and democracy, he said.Work is carried out to enhance the cooperation agenda, including in the direction of deepening economic ties.
Kostanyan said the foreign ministry and other government agencies have regularly maintained contacts with both Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. over the years.
“The fact is that the American people have elected Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States, and the Government of Armenia will work with the newly elected authorities,” Kostanyan said.
