As polling stations opened early Tuesday across several East Coast states, eager Americans lined up to cast their ballots for either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
However, they weren’t the first to vote. Dixville Notch, a small hamlet in New Hampshire near the Canadian border, upheld its tradition of being the first in the U.S. to complete in-person voting, with all six registered voters casting their ballots just after midnight local time.
Both candidates recently wrapped up a long, costly, and exhausting campaign.
Polls show no decisive lead, with approximately 100 electoral votes still up for grabs, leaving pundits saying the election could go either way.
More than 160 million Americans are expected to participate in this presidential election.
