"The 'Crossroads of Peace' and the unblocking of transport infrastructure are primarily aimed at serving our own interests. This is for us; we want to be at the crossroads of major international logistics routes", Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during the discussion of the 2025 Armenia’s state budget draft in the country’s National Assembly, addressing various governments’ perspectives on the 'Crossroads of Peace.'
"We have deemed and continue to deem the deployment or involvement of any third party along these routes unacceptable. However, we are also prepared to proceed with unblocking these routes under these conditions," he said.
Mirzoyan also highlighted that many countries have welcomed the concept of the 'Crossroads of Peace.'
"In fact, yes, I focused on our interests, but this is something that aligns with the interests of many countries, particularly the major geopolitical centers, and benefits the movement of goods and passengers from east to west, as well as from north to south.
This welcoming process, of course, is ongoing, and we are continuing our efforts. I am almost certain that at some point in the near future, the 'Crossroads of Peace' and the unblocking of infrastructure will truly become an important and highly useful hub for the movement of goods between the various geopolitical centers mentioned, thus significantly enhancing the security of the Republic of Armenia and becoming a factor for peace. This is why the initiative has been named the 'Crossroads of Peace,'" Mirzoyan said.
