Moscow is ready to discuss proposals to expand relations with Tbilisi, said Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"If our Georgian neighbors have additional proposals regarding contacts, we will certainly consider them. We have never shied away from contacts," said the Russian Foreign Minister.
"We don't have diplomatic relations now, because the former leadership of Georgia stopped them, but we and the Georgian side have representations in each other's territory, next to the Swiss embassy," he said.
According to the Minister, "our diplomats work in Tbilisi in that capacity, they also report on the events happening there."
"They contribute to the development of ties, including trade and economic relations, which are really on the rise, tourism is developing," the Russian Foreign Minister noted and added that Russian diplomats are "discussing the issues with the representatives of the Georgian authorities."
