The Human Rights Watch international human rights organization referred to the holding of the 29th session of the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, more commonly known as COP29, in Azerbaijan.
"Azerbaijan, this year’s host of the global climate conference COP29, plans to expand gas production in the next decade.
These plans undermine the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change," the statement
reads.
