In a briefing with journalists, Armenia's Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, referred to the prospect of the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the occupied territories of Armenia in the logic of the peace treaty. The President of the National Assembly stated that logic suggests that based on the principles of Alma Ata's declaration, Azerbaijan should leave the territory of Armenia.
"I will not reveal the points of the peace treaty. But logic suggests that when we talk about specifying the border based on the principles of the Almaty Declaration, it implies that if Armenia or Azerbaijan recognizes that beyond this line is the territory of another country, it should be restored. I am sure that by signing a peace treaty, we will achieve it, and Azerbaijan will withdraw from the parts where it is in front, and we will specify the border with which Armenia became independent on September 21 of 1991."
