COP29 is a good opportunity for us to focus attention on all the current and urgent problems in our region, the peace process, stability and development of the region, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated at the Government-Parliament question-and-answer session.
“As for the solution of the problem of captives, I have said and continue to say that we raise these issues in all our working discussions and meetings, and we thank all those countries and organizations that continue to keep this issue on their agenda, and we with the same consistency we will continue to work,” said the Prime Minister.
Responding to the MP's question whether official Yerevan is preparing to make a statement regarding the return of prisoners ahead of COP29, Nikol Pashinyan said the following:
“Now we act according to the following logic: we assess what will be effective today and do what is most effective with our assessment and the information we have. At what moment will we estimate that an official statement is missing from our side to resolve the issue, we will make that official statement as soon as possible.”
