The U.S. has always supported the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, Armenian parliament majority leader Hayk Konjoryan told reporters.
Konjoryan was asked to elaborate on the proposals conveyed by Michael Carpenter, Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council of the Biden Administration, to Prime Minister Pashinyan.
“I did not participate in the meeting and I don’t know, but I think that the U.S. stance has always been public and the U.S. has always supported the peace process. We are very happy for that and we appreciate the U.S. active efforts aimed at the establishment of peace in the region,” Konjoryan, the Head of the Civil Contract faction in the Armenian parliament, said at a press briefing.
Earlier we reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Michael Carpenter and Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono.
Michael Carpenter forwarded Joe Biden's letter to Prime Minister Pashinyan.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty.
