Reuters/CCTV. Kazan, the capital of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, will welcome world leaders for the 16th BRICS Summit from Tuesday to Thursday.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Chinese President Xi Jinping is among the leaders to attend the Summit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Located on the bank of the Volga River, Kazan is also one of Russia's important political, scientific, educational, cultural and sports centers.
The summit is the first to be held after the BRICS expansion in January when Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were included into the group.
The combined GDP of the ten-member BRICS organization now accounts for about a third of the global total, with their population representing nearly half of the world's total, and their trade making up one-fifth of global total.
