Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations stated that the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar will strengthen the "spirit of resistance".
"As long as there is occupation and aggression, the resistance will continue," said the UN representation in a statement.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that Yahya Sinwar, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, was killed during an attack in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli authorities intend to continue the fight against the Hamas group and release the hostages in the Gaza Strip, The Times of Israel reports.
The White House also reported that US President Joe Biden congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the elimination of the leader of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement Yahya Sinwar, the politicians discussed the possibility of resuming negotiations on the Gaza Strip.
