On October 17, the delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan, which is in the Czech Republic on an official visit, was hosted by the Czech Parliament, meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the country's Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament thanked Alen Simonyan again for the warm reception shown during her visit to Armenia at the beginning of the year, adding that this meeting is the continuation of their previous meeting. The RA NA President, in turn, thanked his Czech colleague for the warm reception, noting that such meetings strengthen bilateral friendly ties even more.
During the meeting, the interlocutors touched on a wide range of issues of bilateral interest. The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament spoke with special emphasis about the democratic achievements of Armenia and the reforms implemented in the country, noting that the Czech Republic supports Armenia's desire and willingness to get closer to the EU.
Alen Simonyan drew the attention of his Czech colleague to the situation in our region by presenting the Crossroads of Peace project initiated by the Government and reaffirmed Armenia's readiness in the process of establishing peace with Azerbaijan.
The interlocutors also referred to the existing economic potential between the two countries, mentioning that there is a wide opportunity to realize it.
Alen Simonyan also toured the building of the Chamber of Deputies and left a note in the Book of Honorary Guests.
After the meeting, the President of the RA National Assembly and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament made a statement to the press.
