Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited the "Bazoomq" space research laboratory to learn about its activities, current programs, and future plans, as well as to discuss cooperation opportunities.
Accompanied by the co-founders of "Bazoomq," Hayk Martirosyan and Avetik Grigoryan, Hayrapetyan toured the laboratory's territory, familiarized himself with the ground installation for satellite communication, visited the flight control room, and explored the small satellite development laboratory.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was presented with the history, activities, current projects, and long-term goals of the laboratory. The discussion included the laboratory's first mission, "Hayasat-1," and the long-term plans related to future missions. The importance of satellite-based Earth observation for Armenia was also addressed.
The minister was also introduced to the DeepSat startup, which focuses on new space technologies, particularly VLEO (Very Low Earth Orbit) technologies. The co-founders of the startup, Davit Baghdasaryan, Nerses Ohanyan, and Hayk Martirosyan, provided a detailed presentation of DeepSat's activities, vision, and solutions.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of "Bazoomq" activities for Armenia and the role of public-private cooperation in the development and advancement of technologies and innovation.
The minister noted that the development of space activities is one of the key priorities for Armenia. An agreement was also reached to collaborate on creating a strategic document for the space sector.
