A powerful earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale has struck eastern Turkey, with its epicentre located near the city of Malatya.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that the quake occurred at a shallow depth of 9 kilometres.
The epicentre was pinpointed approximately 43 kilometres east of Malatya city, a region that has experienced significant seismic activity in the past.
