On October 17-18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will leave for Turkey on a working visit to participate in the third meeting of the '3+3' regional consultation platform. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, informed about this at the weekly briefing. The platform includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, as well as Iran, Russia and Turkey.
"We consider this format as an effective mechanism for coordinating the efforts of regional leaders to achieve lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as an opportunity to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres," Zakharova said.
Within the framework of the event, the Russian Foreign Minister will also have bilateral meetings with partners.
