Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi in Amman on Wednesday (October 16) as part of Araghchi's regional tour to discuss the ongoing and escalating situation of the Hamas-Israel war in Gaza, which expanded to Lebanon, Reuters reports.
Over the past week, Araghchi visited Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
He is expected to later visit Egypt and Turkey as part of Iran's diplomatic reach-out to countries of the region "to end genocide, atrocity and aggression," the Iranian foreign ministry's spokesperson said on Wednesday in a post on X.
Tehran will not hesitate to take "stronger defensive actions" if Israel retaliates for October 1 missile attack by Tehran, Aragchi said on Friday (October 11).
Israel has repeatedly said it will respond to Iran's missile attack on Oct. 1, launched in retaliation for Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Gaza and the killing of a Hamas leader in Iran.
