Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati told AFP in an interview Tuesday that security had been tightened in the country's only airport in Beirut, to remove any pretexts for an Israeli attack. "We inspect everything that happens at the airport, from the name of each passenger who enters to the luggage brought in," says Mikati.
"We inspect everything that happens at the airport, from the name of each passenger who enters [the country] to the luggage brought in, whether as cargo or as personal items, as well as the planes as they land. A thorough inspection is being conducted to ensure that there is no pretext left for the enemy with regards to the airport", he adds.
