On October 15, in Geneva, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated and delivered remarks at the 75th Session of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister touched upon the issue of over 115,000 refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, who were subjected to ethnic cleansing due to Azerbaijan’s military aggression unleashed in September 2023. Deputy Minister Kostanyan emphasised that the Government of Armenia, in coordination with international partners, has undertaken all possible measures to address the immediate humanitarian needs of the refugees.
The Deputy Foreign Minister underscored the need for additional efforts to address the long-term needs of the refugees, underscoring the importance of continued support of UNHCR and other international partners in this regard.
