I highlight the activation of the relations between Armenia and Hungary, which will have positive impact on the development and deepening of cooperation in different spheres: The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan said, welcoming the delegation led by the Head of the Hungary-Armenia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Hungary Mihály Balla in parliament of our country.
The Head of the RA NA Armenia-Hungary Friendship Group Hripsime Grigoryan and the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary Ashot Smbatyan attended the meeting held on October 11.
As Sargis Khandanyan assessed, in recent years the governments of the two countries closely cooperate. The Committee Chair spoke about the necessity of deepening the inter-parliamentary relations, in this context, evaluating the work of the Friendship Groups.
Thanking the Armenian MPs for reception, the Head of the Armenia-Hungary Friendship Group noted that though the relations between the two states activated, but in different spheres there is great potential of developing the economic, educational and cultural cooperation.
Touching upon the regional issues, the sides emphasized the establishment of lasting stability and peace in South Caucasus. Sargis Khandanyan talked about the process of signing peace treaty with Azerbaijan, presented the Crossroads of peace authored by the Government of Armenia, which, according to the MP, can be a guarantee for the establishment of peace in the region.
At the meeting reference was also made to the Armenia-European Union Enhanced cooperation, the visa liberalization to the EU countries. Mihály Balla underscored the readiness of the Hungarian side to support Armenia in those processes.
