Work continues regarding military supplies for Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday, October 10, following a meeting in Paris with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, TVP World reports.
Macron’s meeting with Zelenskyy came after Zelenskyy held talks earlier with NATO chief Mark Rutte and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, where they discussed his proposed “victory plan” and whether Ukraine could use Western missiles against targets in Russia.
“I had, once again, very good exchanges with the president [Zelenskyy] today, who detailed his plan and the work in the coming weeks,” Macron told journalists at the Elysee presidential palace.
“I want to restate here France’s support to the Ukrainian resistance in the face of the Russian war of aggression,” he added.
Zelenskyy said he also discussed the “victory plan” with Macron, adding that he is thankful to France for its support to Ukraine during the war launched by Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
He added: “I shared with Emmanuel Macron our plans, victory plan and the situation on the battlefield […] we are thankful for everything, preparing before winter, we need your support, and I’m thankful for everything you [Macron] did.”
France has trained a total of 15,000 Ukrainian personnel since the onset of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
It also said it would allocate an additional €3 billion in military support earlier this year.
