Russia does not interfere in the affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on October 8 when answering the question of 'Izvestia' correspondent.
He recalled that according to the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the leaders of the countries always sit at the same table, but this does not indicate Moscow's involvement in the affairs of Baku and Yerevan.
“They continue their dialogue one way or another within the CIS framework. However, the rest, bilateral relations, are no longer our concern; it is their sovereign prerogative,” he clarified.
At the same time, he said, the Russian side is in dialogue with both countries.
“We discussed Russian-Armenian relations with Armenia and Russian-Azerbaijani relations with Azerbaijan,” Peskov added.
