Belarus is ready to help Ukraine with the reconstruction effort, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with residents of the agro-town of Parokhonsk, Pinsk District, on 4 October, BelTA reports.
Lukashenko noted that "the leadership of Ukraine is said to be controlled by the Americans. And if some decision needs to be made, Vladimir Zelensky immediately flies to Washington."
"He does not go to Minsk and Moscow to negotiate and end this war. He thinks that the Americans will rebuild Ukraine after the war and they will become well-off, strong, wise. No one will restore the country. If the government there changes, they will ask: Volodya, who are you?" the head of state remarked.
The president is convinced that the new American administration will be too busy dealing with domestic problems to pay enough attention to Ukraine.
"Therefore, the leadership of Ukraine needs to come to senses and realize that the first thing they will need to do is to restore the country. With the help of people close to them, primarily Belarusians," Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
