Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan addressed the recent intensification of discussions regarding Tigranashen in a briefing with journalists.
"Such discussions serve the agendas of external forces aiming to destabilize Armenia," he stated.
“No square meter of Armenia’s sovereign territory has been handed over to anyone. As for the border delimitation process, it will continue its course as usual”, Kostanyan added.
Speaking about the risk of escalations, he noted that this threat remains, at least until a peace treaty, or more specifically a settlement agreement, is signed between the two countries. “We believe that such an agreement will further increase the possibilities for stability in the South Caucasus”, the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Regarding the issue of returning the prisoners of war, Kostanyan said: "All humanitarian issues, including the return of prisoners of war, are a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are always raised during all of our meetings, and not just meetings".
