During a briefing with journalists in the Armenian National Assembly, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan stated that if there is political will, there is no issue in finalizing the points already agreed upon.
"If Azerbaijan truly has no territorial ambitions, and if Azerbaijan’s leader genuinely wants peace in the region, then the ball has been in Azerbaijan’s court for a long time. We are waiting for official Baku’s response as to where, how, and in what platform they suggest signing the peace agreement," Alen Simonyan said.
He emphasized that various international partners have already proposed platforms. "This is another message that the international community is waiting, and in the case of COP29, I want to imagine whether during the event international partners visiting Baku will talk about this agreement, about the prisoners of war still held in Azerbaijan, and about the territorial demands that Azerbaijan's president has towards Armenia. I want to understand whether that is something of interest or importance to Azerbaijan," Simonyan added.
