Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will travel to Armenia on a working visit on October 1, the press service of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Russian Prime Minister will take part in the 40th meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIGC) and the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum.
Together with colleagues from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Mishustin will discuss "current tasks of deepening integration within the Eurasian Economic Union", paying special attention to "issues of the functioning of the internal market, development of cooperation in the industrial, transport, customs and tariff, agricultural and energy spheres". Representatives of the EAEU observer countries Cuba and Uzbekistan, as well as invited guests, will join the meeting of the intergovernmental council.
In addition, the prime ministers of the EAEU countries are expected to consider areas of industrial cooperation within the EAEU until 2030.
The autumn meetings of the EIGC are traditionally held in Armenia, and Mishustin has attended them every year since his appointment as prime minister in 2020. The previous meeting of the council was held in Nesvizh (Belarus) in June.
The EIGC, which includes the heads of government of the EAEU countries, implements the decisions of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which consists of the presidents of the union countries. The EMPS meetings are held at least twice a year.
The Eurasian Economic Forum is being held for the third time. Its main theme is "10 years of the EAEU: prospects and priorities." The Russian Prime Minister's speech will be devoted to digitalization in modern realities.
