Israel does not think that it is in a conflict with Lebanon, and calls on the Lebanese to prevent the Hezbollah movement from starting a new Lebanese-Israeli war. Danny Danon, Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, made such a statement, commenting on the new attack on Beirut.
"We are not in conflict with Lebanon. I call on the people of Lebanon to speak openly and exert pressure, not allowing Hezbollah to divide Lebanon for another war against Israel," he said in a conversation with journalists in New York.
