On September 27, in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Ivan Kondov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.
The interlocutors discussed issues on expanding bilateral relations between Armenia and Bulgaria, focusing on both the deepening of political dialogue and the further development of cooperation in specific directions.
Among other fields, the importance of close cooperation in economic and tourism development was highlighted. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan presented the issues encountered by Armenian citizens during their recent visits to Bulgaria, stressing the importance of addressing them to further enhance people-to-people contacts.
Ararat Mirzoyan also commended the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue between Armenia and the EU and the positive expectations from it. In addition, other topics on the Armenia-EU new partnership agenda were touched upon.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Bulgaria also discussed projects aimed at developing regional interconnectivity. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the “Crossroads of Peace” concept developed by the Government of Armenia.
The Minister briefed his counterpart on Armenia's vision for achieving sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, including the normalization process of relations with neighbors.
