On September 25, in New York, on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Jean-Noël Barrot, the newly appointed Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated Jean-Noël Barrot on his appointment as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and wished him success in his new important mission.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues on the agenda of cooperation between Armenia and France were touched upon including bilateral relations, the Armenia-EU new Partnership Agenda, as well as regional developments.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Jean-Noël Barrot discussed the joint steps aimed at deepening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. “The relations between Armenia and France are evolving with a new substance, and we are developing strategic partnership” - Minister Mirzoyan emphasized.
In the context of regional developments, views were exchanged on the security situation and challenges in and around the South Caucasus and steps aimed at establishing lasting peace in the region.
