During the 79th UN General Assembly in New York, the presidents of Iran and Turkey, Masoud Pezeshkian and Recep Erdogan, held a meeting to discuss bilateral relations, the situation in the Middle East, and regional and global developments.
According to Turkish media, Erdogan emphasized the importance of taking appropriate measures against Israel's aggression in Palestine and Lebanon and establishing peace and stability in the region. The presidents also agreed to expand bilateral cooperation. Erdogan expressed hope that Ankara-Tehran relations will further develop in the near future.
Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity of unity for the bright future of Islamic countries.
"The creation of a common market in the region, as well as the development of scientific and economic ties, can demonstrate the greatness of the Islamic world to the entire world," the Iranian president stated.
Pezeshkian also stressed that the crimes happening in the Gaza Strip should not be allowed to repeat.
