Minister of Justice of Armenia Grigor Minasyan received the delegation led by Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia reports.
The Minister highlighted the high level of cooperation with the EU in the context of ensuring democratic reforms and rule of law in Armenia.
Grigor Minasyan referred to the deepening of cooperation with the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), emphasized the importance of signing the ‘Working Agreement’ project ensuring the implementation of the Eurojust Agreement.
The Minister of Justice expressed his gratitude for the EU support for the renovation of two buildings of the ‘Abovyan’ Penitentiary; he expressed hope that the cooperation in this direction will be continuous.
Maragos, Head of the delegation of the European Union in Armenia, referred to the visa liberalization dialogue. The parties recorded the planned actions in this direction.
During the meeting, reference was also made to the implementation process of the Armenia-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement, the EU budget support, as well as the development of the electronic justice system ‘e-justice’.
Minasyan and Maragos reached an agreement to continue joint work in the context of justice sector reform.
