I want to officially record once again that Armenia is ready, wants and Armenia is ready to provide the same transition under the same conditions as the Islamic Republic of Iran gives to Azerbaijan, exactly the same conditions. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during the Global Armenian Summit, referring to Azerbaijan's statement regarding the opening of regional communiques, according to which, if Armenia does not want it, Azerbaijan will implement the projects on the territory of Iran.
“We are ready to provide our roads through Syunik, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, all possible places. By what principles? The roads must function without bypassing, undermining or subordinating the sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia, just like in all countries of the world. When we talked about the opening of regional connections Azerbaijan’s reaction was the following, alright, if Armenia doesn’t want it, we will implement that project through Iranian territory. First of all I’d like to once again officially say for the record that Armenia wants and is ready to ensure the same passage under the exact same conditions that Iran does. Furthermore, we don’t rule out some simplifications of procedures and we view this in the logic of reciprocity,” Pashinyan said.
