Why is Azerbaijan worried? Azerbaijan is worried because the Government of Armenia, the Armed Forces, under its leadership, are implementing large-scale programs aimed at raising the level of security of all of us by one degree or several degrees. Andranik Kocharyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Affairs of the National Assembly, said this during the parliamentary briefings, referring to the disinformation that has been spreading recently from Azerbaijan, that the Armenian side is opening fire in the direction of the Azerbaijani positions.
“Now Azerbaijan is worried, it's a very natural thing, because during the first war of the 90s, Azerbaijan had failures in the form of defeat, and then recorded successes in the form of victory in the 44-day war. The worry now is what will happen in the future.
But our task is to increase our security with new weapons, educated personnel and those structures that will make us more confident to achieve the peace agenda,” said Kocharyan.
Andranik Kocharyan responded to the question that there is talk of possible accumulations on the Azerbaijani side, and military experts consider actions by the Azerbaijani side possible in November. “We are also worried about the large volume of arms acquisition that Azerbaijan is carrying out, from different countries. And if the former authorities of Armenia had been worried, during the 44-day war, our warehouses would have been full, the conscription resource would have been more prepared, and quite we would be prepared for problems and not stand behind the ‘can-bottle’”.
Andranik Kocharyan also informed that security works are being carried out at the borders of Armenia. “Yes, we are concerned, that is why we are making plans to prevent any such desire.”
