It would be nice if we could talk about the dates, but unfortunately, we can't now. Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, announced this during parliamentary briefings, responding to the question of how realistic it is to sign a peace treaty before COP29, and whether there is sufficient international pressure in this direction, including the return of persons detained in Azerbaijan.
“There is support from international partners. How great the pressure is on Azerbaijan, we can judge from the happening events, statements, also officials of different countries.
Yes, the event to be organized in Azerbaijan is quite important; there will be a representative team in Baku. We hope that our international partners will support us in advancing the peace agenda.
When will it be signed, in what terms, in what form, we have talked a lot about this: there are processes taking place. Let's hope everything will go [towards] positive development," he said.
When asked whether Armenia will participate in COP29, Artur Hovhannisyan said that it is not yet the right time to talk about it.
